Avoid caffeine, if possible. Caffeine may seem like an ideal solution but it's one sure way of getting a temporary buzz, only to crash badly the following day (perhaps halfway through your test or meeting).
Instead, drink two brimming glasses of ice cold water every 30 minutes. Not only will the cold water help to keep you awake, but you'll need to urinate very often. It's difficult to sleep on the toilet.
Non-caffeinated herbal tea will also naturally keep you awake due to tea's extensive amount of herbs.
Do not work in bed, on a couch, or on the floor.
If you get tired, rub ice blocks on your eyes.
Set an alarm on your phone for every 20 minutes or so, this is great if you start dozing off.
If you get tired, walk around
Napping: Take naps only for about ten minutes. Set a loud timer to wake you up, and stay half-awake.
Spicy food is a great way to keep yourself awake. If you're pretty resistant to spicy food, try some extra spicy Asian Noodle Dishes or Burrito with Habenaro Hot Sauce. It's doubtful you'll be able to fall asleep while you're panting and glugging down all that ice water.

Don’t waste time digging around your backpack for whatever books or notepads you need to work through your assignments. Take out all of your needed materials beforehand to save you valuable time.
Keeping yourself organized can also be made easier by creating a task list that you can check-off as you complete each step of your assignments. This can also be a great way to keep you motivated.
Unless your homework requires you to work online, you should turn off the internet as well as all other common distractions such as the television or your cell phone.
It might be a good idea to have a little music to keep you awake. Just don’t choose anything that is too loud or distracting. Perhaps something that will likely grab your attention but not negatively affect your work habits.
